Mr. Travelstead’s practice focuses on wage and hour class actions, discrimination and harassment claims, and appellate matters in both state and federal court.  Mr. Travelstead has successfully defeated class certification in a misclassification case against a national retailer and defended against class action claims in the financial services, temporary staffing, food processing, emergency services, construction and information technology industries.  He has successfully represented both public and private sector employers before the California Court of Appeal and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and served as the principal author of the winning brief in Ross v. RagingWire Telecommunications, Inc., 42 Cal.4th 920 (2008), where the California Supreme Court ruled that employers have no legal obligation to accommodate an employee’s medical use of marijuana.
