Since her admission to bar in 2001, Ms. Uy’s practice has focused exclusively on employment law litigation and counseling. She represents employers in both federal and state court and in administrative proceedings. Ms. Uy has defended wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage-hour, breach of contract, whistleblower and other employment claims. In addition, she advises employers in various employment law matters, including termination, discipline, and leaves of absence.

Prior to joining Miller Law Group, Ms. Uy worked as a contract attorney in-house at Bechtel Corporation, where she advised Bechtel on day-to-day employment law issues and developed personnel and staffing policies. Ms. Uy began her legal career as an associate at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, where she litigated single and multi-plaintiff claims and gained significant experience defending putative wage-hour class actions. In 2006, Ms. Uy joined the employment law boutique of Kauff, McClain & McGuire LLP, where she continued to work on single and multi-plaintiff cases and expanded her counseling practice.

Ms. Uy received her J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley in 2001. While in law school, she clerked for the California Fair Employment and Housing Commission where she assisted Administrative Law Judges draft decisions under FEHA, CFRA and the Unruh Civil Rights Act. Ms. Uy also completed her undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley, where she received her Bachelor of Arts with a double major in English (with honors) and Philosophy in 1998.
